When asked about her motivation, she explains, "It has always been very important to me to help artists open their minds to opportunities beyond their comfort zones, expand their fan base beyond local boundaries, and collaborate with artists nationwide. It's all about growth, seeking opportunities outside one's city, and evolving as an artist."
Debra Sue's passion for music stems from her personal experience as a performer, having graced the stage with numerous bands and supported renowned artists. Despite her flourishing medical career, which demanded significant time and dedication, she returned to her musical roots upon retirement. She established a Teleradiology Risk Management/Consulting company and transformed a building near Toledo's historic downtown into "The Compound." This multifaceted hub mirrors a mini-Motown, housing a beauty/nail salon, a dedicated area for recording live interviews/podcasts spotlighting local artists and business owners, a notary public service, tax preparation assistance, incorporation/trademark guidance, a small clothing boutique, and an educational space for industry enthusiasts. Debra's publishing prowess has also empowered individuals to become published authors, a testament to her commitment to realizing dreams. "If you have a story to tell, I can help you bring it to life," she asserts. Harnessing her extensive education and management background, she skillfully oversees these ventures today. Debra Sue now dedicates the majority of her time to mentoring a select group of serious artists willing to invest in their careers and embrace a demanding path that few are resolute enough to traverse. "I appreciate all artists, producers, DJs, and like-minded individuals, but my focus is unyielding, leaving no room for procrastination or doubt. Know your goals and find a way to achieve them. Sadly, due to the onset of Covid-19, Debra had to shutter the studio after just three years of operation, as public establishments were temporarily halted. When asked about the possibility of reopening that segment of her business, she responds, "It's not entirely ruled out, but with the concept of home studio/recording now prevalent, it's highly uncertain. As mentioned before, I don't favor dealing with uncertainty. That chapter had its time; it aided countless artists and music students, helping them develop their music from sheets to reality. However, for me, that era has largely passed. The demand isn't the same post-Covid."
In her leisure moments, Debra Sue seeks solace in the serenity of nature. She relishes the opportunity to spend time in her quiet sanctuary, a rarity amidst her bustling life. She harbors dreams of venturing into clothing design, but her primary aspiration is to instill a strong work ethic and a pursuit of education in her grandchildren, emphasizing their non-negotiable importance. Having been a contributing magazine consultant and radio personality, Debra Sue continually seeks to enhance her professional journey by exploring opportunities in airway communication.
